New Ride Features and Pricing are Coming: Here’s What to Know
CDOT and Lyft are excited to roll out some major updates to make riding with Divvy more affordable and flexible than ever. Whether you’re a longtime member, coming back after a break, or a casual rider, there’s something new for you.
New Ride Features to Make Your Trips Smoother
Mid-Ride Pause
Need to stop for a snack, take a call, or run a quick errand? You can now pause your ebike mid-trip. Lock the rear wheel while keeping the bike reserved—then unlock and continue your ride when you’re ready.
Low-Assist Mode (for Ebikes)
When no classic bikes are available at a docking station, members can now choose to ride an ebike at the classic bike rate. Low-assist mode gives you reduced motor assist and a familiar pedaling experience at the lower cost.
Updated Pricing, Designed for Flexibility
Ebike Pricing for Members
Ebike rides for members will be $0.19 per minute. For longer rides, trips between 30–45 minutes will be capped at $5.70 to provide more predictable pricing.
Divvy for Everyone Member trips between 30–45 minutes are capped at just $1.50.
Scooter Pricing for Members
Member scooter trips will be priced at $0.31 per minute.
Out-of-Station Fees (OOS)
Out-of-station docking fees are being updated to reflect system use across rider groups:
Members: $1.30 per trip
Equity Members: $1.10 per trip
Casual Riders: $1.60 per trip
Classic Bike Pricing for Casual Riders
Casual rider pricing for classic bikes will now be $0.19 per minute.
Why These Changes?
These updates are about making Divvy easier to use-whether you ride every day or a few times a month. From giving riders more options mid-trip to clearer pricing across bikes and scooters, our goal is to ensure the system works well for everyone across Chicago.
